Both can be easily learned at 80 as well if one just takes time to do so once lvl80. Imo that is more time effective compared to using it on a class that can burn through the low end content anyway with only 1/4th of a full build. On top of that many just end up playing staff mesmer/ele to level anyway. not much of a learning curve to those setups.
Then you must start the Heart of Thorns story and play the prologue and the first mission to get the basic glider, and you need a level 80 character to do that. Once unlocked, the mastery and related skins will be account-wide, so you can do that with a different character, then go back to the low level character to use it.

The boost doesn't get you all the hero points or mastery points you'll need anyway. Since you're going to have to go and get those regardless, might as well learn your proferssion's skill set along the way. It's my opinion that the level 80 boost is a stick designed to look like a carrot.

I should have been clearer in my question. Although the boost is valued at 2k gems, I do not value them very much at all. As mentioned, it is incredibly easy to reach max level. Tomes of Knowledge are easy to obtain for instant boost. Or fast leveling through crafting. In additions, the new Ad

On the surface the level 80 boost may appear to be a fun way for new players to get into the game and start having fun immediately and it is for a… It's advisable to have at least one lvl 80 levelled the normal way because it helps learnt the game better. A lot of people boost, go straight to level 80 areas in HoT or PoF and then find themselves unable to do anything having skipped so much of end areas of the core maps (Orr) and Living World Season 2 Hey, I player my 1st Character to level 25-30 then got a second one boosted to 80 . You might get overwhelmed , you might take it slow and figure it out. In GW2 you scale your level with the maps, so if you feel overwhelmed after the level you can go back to previous zones and chill there and learn the mechanics.
438. Posted October 14, 2021 (edited) Also as new players its very important you pick a right profession to start with. nerco, guard, warrior, ranger is easy to use and learn. thief, revenant, mesmer is bit harder. ele and engineers is the hardest to learn and get use to. lots of button press.
API. 66949. “. Double-click to consume. Double-click to advance a character to level 40. Can only be used by characters under level 40. — In-game description. Experience Scroll is a consumable that increases the character's level to 40 if that character is below level 40.
Hi, I have just returned since quitting when the game had just released. I managed to get a character to level 50. I got a level 60 boost birthday present which I used on a new character. So, here I am now with a level 60 elementalist standing in Rata sum with no idea what I should do. Anyone tha
Some of your skills create Phantasms. These ghosts do an attack with tons of damage. Phantasms become Clones after their attack. Some skills also make Clones. Clones do zero damage but increase the power of Shatter. Ignore all the other shatters. For now, all you need is f1, it's raw damage. Use it when you have 3 Clones.

The boost includes a box which is all of your gear from before you activated the boost. Do it at level 1, you'll get some starter gear back. Do it at level 14, you get all your armor/trinkets/weapons back. There is a level 80 gear box, and an "old gear" box.

In general, exploration is the name of the game (well, actually its Guild Wars 2 but you know what I mean :P) - whatever you do, it'll likely give you experience, so just do what you enjoy. You'll get all skills and traits by level 80 anyway, so pick what sounds fun and experiment, you cant damage your character in the long run and you can Something that has bothered me for a long time now, this all stems from an accident of placing a valuable infusion into one of the level 80 boost gear that was "given" to my character (the infusion was a+5/+9 agony infusion into one of the "given" exotic earrings).
Using the boost only cancels out the level-up rewards for the character you permanently skip to level 80. What if all my characters are already level 80? You can either create a new character or consume the boost with one of your existing level 80 characters.
Make a new character, use the boost, delete the character, hence and repeat. Use it. A level 80 character using it will get all the equipment, bags, etc. Then delete the crap you don't want. However, some classes get full exotic Celestial gear, which isn't a bad alternate set to keep.
The XP is wasted until you do the first instance of either Heart of Thorns or Path of Fire to unlock the Mastery system. Don't freak out about wasting this XP, though. The total amount of XP required for Masteries isn't that huge anyway. Masteries are a long-term project to get them all, and XP isn't the only limiting factor.
The boost has a trial that allows you to test the class at 80 before confirming. But it's trash because it doesn't give you access to elite specialisations. You're better off making a character, finishing the tutorial, and then at level 2 going into the pvp lobby were you can try that class at level 80 and with all specialisations (including If you like challenges, lvl up the elementalist yourself and use the booster on Rev. If you don't like wasting time and don't mind grinding the rev to 80 then boost the ele. With that being said, I have yet to lvl up my ele to 80 and my rev is still sitting at lvl 2. All the information above I've gathered from talking with people and looking
